ScanAps mission:
- To provide a comprehensive solution for paper and electronic coupon redemption, clearing and distribution, with emphasis on the following:
- To provide consumers, retailers and manufacturers with the most convenient, efficient and profitable way to “clip”, redeem, process and deliver coupons.
- To introduce a complete "Electronic Coupon Clearing" solution that validates coupons prior to redemption in real time at POS.
- To introduce a store level electronic coupon selection and delivery system that enables retailers and manufacturers to deliver customer centric 1-to-1 price and promotion for each item in real time at POS based on each shopper's level of loyalty to a store, chain or brand.
- To introduce a consumer scanner to facilitate a variety of consumer scanning applications, including coupon scanning and redemption.

Our Team and Advisors
ScanAps has over 100 years of combined experience in software development, management, marketing, sales and business development as follows:
Fred Paul, Founder, Chairman and Chief Technology Officer
Fred designed and developed the complete proprietary architecture for the Personal Coupon Scanner, Electronic Coupon Clearing & TIPS solutions as well as interfaces with various POS systems and loyalty programs.
Fred developed the complete front line validation and automated redemption system. Fred is responsible for complete product development, technical implementation & testing of our pilot program.
As Founder, President & CEO of Essential Software, Fred grew the company from the original concept to the international leader in mainframe archival report management with offices worldwide.
At Essential Software, Fred designed and developed original archival and retrieval product (SAR) along with report distribution and management system product (Express Delivery) for IBM mainframes.
Fred also oversaw development of the mainframe disaster recovery system product (Arise) and orchestrated the merger of the company with Goal Systems.
Fred has a Bachelor's degree in Physics with a minor in Computer Science from Pennsylvania State University and has completed the Executive Business Program at Stanford University.
Vijay Chetty, Founder, President & CEO
Vijay is responsible for driving ScanAps' vision and developing the business model. Prior to joining ScanAps, Vijay was CFO of Kent & Spiegel, a direct consumer marketing company, where he played a key role in pricing and negotiation strategies for Wal-Mart, whose sales comprised $80 million out of the company's $150 million gross.
Prior to Kent & Spiegel, Vijay was in public accounting for nine years and was an audit manager at Duitch, Franklin & Co. Vijay has audited numerous Fortune 500 companies including Hewlett Packard, Packard Bell, Hughes, Northrop and many others.
Vijay served as a Director of the Association of Coupon Professionals (ACP), the national association that addresses all matters related to coupons. ScanAps and Vijay have exhibited and lectured at events such as the Joint Industry Coupon Conference, Coupon Information Council, ACP conferences, as well as the Global Electronic Marketing Conference.
A technology innovator and leader, Vijay has filed three patents. Vijay is also a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Management Accountant. He has a Bachelor of Finance from Madras Christian College, India; an MBA, with specialization in Marketing and MIS from PSG College of Technology, India; and a Masters in Accounting from Auburn University, Alabama .
Diane Keith, Director and Investor
Diane is an early investor in ScanAps and has provided necessary infrastructural and management support to ScanAps through Destiny Marketing Group of Companies. Diane has been an Entrepreneur for over 40 years.
Diane is an Angel Investor and enjoys investing in early stage start up companies. Diane invests primarily in real estate and jewelry related ventures. Diane enjoys building and developing traditional businesses such as real estate and jewelry from scratch.
Diane is an experienced business woman with an excellent business acumen. Diane owns several small businesses including a costume jewelry distribution company, a direct consumer marketing and management company and a real estate development company. Diane enjoys breeding thoroughbred horses. Diane has a Bachelors degree in Arts from UCLA.
David Kiefer, Vice President of Sales & Marketing-Retail
Dave brings to ScanAps over 30 years experience in the retail industry. He was Vice President of Sales, Self-checkout Systems at ECR Software Corporation.
Prior to ECRS, he was Sales Manager for four years at Optimal Robotics Corporation, a leader in the design, sale and support of self-checkout systems.
Prior to that Dave was with NCR Corporation in various sales capacities with his last position being Executive Account Manager, Major Retail Accounts. During his 22 years at NCR, Dave was responsible for building long term relationships at national and regional retail accounts resulting in significant sales of software, hardware and services.
Also, Dave coordinated between accounts and NCR's product development organization in the implementation and piloting of new technology and products. He was directly involved in the design, development, testing and roll-out of various new products related to point-of-sale, UPC scanning, in-store processing systems, and self-checkout systems. Prior to NCR, Dave was Director of Front-end Systems at the Louisville Division of A&P.
Dave also has been a consultant to numerous companies in the development and implementation of store systems, and has participated in numerous seminars, trade shows and other retailer functions. Dave Kiefer holds a BA in Business Administration from Bellarmine University.
Todd I. Priest, Marketing Consultant
Mr. Priest brings more than 20 years of retail experience to the company. With an in-depth knowledge of retail from both the technology and buyer perspectives, Priest has developed supermarket networks for several third party in-store marketing programs.
Most recently he was the Vice President of Retail Network Development for SignStorey, Inc. a leading provider of placed based media via plasma screen and satellite technology. The negotiated national network included over 2,000 stores.
Priest further honed his in-store marketing skills with national and regional director responsibilities at ValuMedia, News America Marketing and Actmedia. There he developed new programs new shopper programs, retailer communication. Other sales and marketing roles included positions with local in-store marketing and food broker organizations.
Priest began his career in 1982 with Kroger Stores Southern California Division merchandising group.
Jim Mumm, President, 1st Wave Sales & Marketing - Marketing Consultants:
Jim has spent his entire 26 year career serving the grocery industry. He learned the business by working his way up through a variety of positions with a large grocery chain over a 12 year period, culminating in store director of 3 incrementally larger stores before becoming a grocery category manager/buyer for the chain.
After leading the national and private brand sales efforts for a major division of Sara Lee with key account responsibilities for Wal-mart, Food Lion, and Pathmark, he served as Director of Sales for electronic services at News America Marketing, specializing in loyalty marketing and stored value cards. Prior to leading 1st Wave Sales & Marketing, Jim was SVP of Sales and Marketing for the leading provider of e-Marketing and e-Commerce solutions to the grocery industry, Vice President of Sales for a firm providing electronic marketing solutions to retail grocers, and Director of Sales for a technology firm also providing leading edge technology solutions to grocers.
Jim holds a BBA in Marketing and an MBA in Management, and will complete a second Masters, in Business Computer Information Systems, next year, from Baruch College in New York City.
