Paw Paw Shopping Center has a loyalty card program that allows them to capture transaction details by customer.

Paw Paw Shopping Center compared the shopping behavior of the loyalty card customers with Coupon Scanners for a six month period from October 1, 2006 thru March 31, 2007 with the loyalty card customers without Coupon Scanners during the same prior year time period and found the following powerful results:

A) While the total store sales for all customers increased by 19% compared to the same prior year time period, average spend per card carrying customer with Coupon Scanner almost doubled compared to the card carrying customers during the same prior year period.

B) Total coupon redemptions for the store increased by about 8%

C) While the average basket size of Coupon Scanner users decreased by about 15%, the average number of visits increased by about 150%, resulting in 118% increase in total spend by these Coupon Scanner users.

ScanAps conducted a preliminary trial with 500 shoppers for 90 days at Green Hills Farms in Syracuse , NY .

A three-month pilot of a unique personal coupon scanner significantly boosted business for a nationally-known supermarket. Overall customer spending increased by 8.3 percent and customer visits to the store by 6 percent. Manufacturer coupon usage jumped a staggering 26 percent.

The Personal Coupon Scanner from Los Angeles-based ScanAps, is a mini key ring device that shoppers use to scan and store barcodes from FSIs or direct mail coupons, as well as to download digital promotions via a PC, kiosk and POS system.
